After a series of voting, the countdown for the greatest ever ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Greatest Moments stood for the ones produced by two of modern-greats. For the final, it was Ellyse Perry’s brilliant athletic save on the final ball of the 2010 final against New Zealand, that won Australia their first title up against Harmanpreet Kaur’s brilliant six downtown off Amy Satterthwaite during her blistering hundred against New Zealand in Guyana in 2018.
As it turned out, Harmanpreet’s hit walked away with the honours for the winner of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Greatest Moments.

Harmanpreet was one of the standout batters at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2018 in the West Indies, finishing the second-highest run-scorer with 183 runs at a strike rate of 160.52. She produced her best against New Zealand in Guyana - a swashbuckling stroke-filled 103 off 51 - the first hundred by an India batter in T20Is.
Harmanpreet’s knock featured seven hits to the fence and eight over it, with one of those maximums winning this contest. The right-hander used her feet brilliantly against Amy Satterthwaite’s off-breaks, and lofted it straight downtown for a glorious hit. Jemimah Rodrigues, the non-striker, couldn’t resist applauding the hit, as the ball sailed over the sightscreen.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Greatest Moments countdown featured eight moments in its first round, including Perry’s save and Harmanpreet’s six. Alyssa Healy’s six over extra-cover off Shikha Pandey during match-winning 75 off 36 in 2020 final and Poonam Yadav’s magic ball to dismiss Perry in India’s opening match of the same edition lost to the eventual finalists in the top-four round.
